When a national nonprofit venture reimagining public education wanted to equip their large portfolio of partner schools with MAP Growth and professional learning, they leaned on the dedicated Program Management team at NWEA.

NWEAand Tacoma Public Schools collaboratively defined a set of challenges and developed meaningful, evidence-based solutions around two workstreams critical to student learning and success: social-emotional learning (SEL) and family engagement. Over the course of an extended partnership, NWEA worked shoulder-to-shoulder with Tacoma educators, providing program management, school improvement services, and research capabilities. The teams relied on their collective strengths to deliver the best results for the district’s students, families, and staff.

In an exclusive webinar designed for administrators, NWEA literacy experts Dr. Cindy Jiban and John Luke Bell, led an engaging, research-based exploration of the science of reading. They also walked through strategies to build buy-in, level up and expand a team’s instructional practices, and sustain the change.

Researchers from NWEA partnered with NewSchools Venture Fund to explore the relationship between school culture and climate, social and emotional learning, and academic achievement. Learn more about this innovative research partnership.
